Well, according to Merriam-Webster there’s no such word spelled as ‘Katsup,’ but ‘Catsup,’ which is what we ‘Ketchup.’
According to Urban Dictionary, katsup is the old school spelling and pronunciation of ketchup.
Matt Soniak did an article on the difference between ketchup and catsup. He concurs that ketchup and catsup/katsup are essentially the same word from a different era. According to Matt, ketchup was first discovered by Westerners in China’s southern coastal Fujian region. It may have been pronounced as ke-chiap or kicap by the Chinese. European started calling it ‘catchup’ around 1690’s.
