How Do I Gain Points?

Just by outlasting 10 teams, you gain 10RP, moving towards 100 for winning. In addition to gaining guaranteed points from placement, you gain additional multipliers to kill RP thanks to your position within the leaderboards. Once the top 10 is cracked, a kill goes from awarding 10RP to 12RP, eventually stopping at 25RP for taking out the second-place team.
While placement is certainly one of the easier ways of gaining points within the first tiers, once you start advancing and building skill, kills are much easier. Remember, as you advance throughout an Apex game, you move from 10 points per kill to 25, meaning that just a few kills could mean the same point value as winning a game. It’s recommended to start with picking off stragglers throughout the map as you build skill and confidence. Eventually, you would want to push unprepared teams, building RP from kills and placement.
What are the Apex Legends Ranks?
There are a total of seven Apex Legends ranks (or tiers), and this section explores their own unique costs, player bases, and rewards.
The base rank is Bronze, the default tier. You receive a badge for joining Bronze, building points without losing any RP to per-game costs. When you reach 1200RP, you join the Silver tier. Platinum places a per-game cost of 36RP on your earnings. The fifth tier is Diamond, with a requirement of 7200RP, and a fee of 48RP. The seventh tier, Apex Predator is for the top 750 players per platform, with a cost of 60RP, rewarding a new badge, cosmetic, and dive trail.
