I came home today to find a 2 inch long 'scratch' in my Hanns G 28 inch computer screen. There is no way I damaged it - it sits so far back on my desk , I can only just touch it if I stretch out from my chair and it has not been moved at all since I bought it in January. There is no damage to the pixels either - it looks like a sharp implement pierced it except there is no picture damage at all, no evidence of impact trauma. Could heat have cause the screen to split open? Is that even possible? Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

It's so annoying. I've filled the crack with vaseline which makes it look like a hair rather than very noticeable damage - but full repair I reckon is impossible as the screen is plastic covered not glass....unless I can prove it falls under warranty damage.

Ugh, I would be so pissed if I came home to that. GL on finding a way to get this resolved cheaply!

I think my monitor is screwed as well. Every time I boot up the monitor keeps turning on and off repeatedly. I have to keep restarting the PC until it eventually stays on. It's starting to get worse. I reckon something is going bad in the monitor. I don't feel like buying another :(
