    Embers of Humanity

Hi everyone. Just wanted to check back in and let everyone know development continues. Star Control meets a spaceship MOBA. I just set up a server in Paris so folks in Western Europe will now be able to play and get good pings. Please bring a friend and play as many free games as you can...

    Embers of Humanity

I love the feedback and completely agree. I was definitely planning on different paces of music and blending them throughout the course of the game depending on different variables. I bought some royalty free music and I basically took the first few decent bits I found and looped them over 30...

    Embers of Humanity

How have you been? Yeah, you got me, I blew that deadline alright :). I had a really hard time finding someone to help me test and I also had a single, rare, show stopping bug I couldn't get rid of until recently. I plan to get a Europe server up and running in a month or two so that it's...

    Embers of Humanity

Hey all, long time no see. I've been hard at work on a new game and I feel like I'm finally at a point where I can share with you a free, public, alpha. Imagine Star Control meets a spaceship MOBA. Embers of Humanity is a multiplayer only, online only, twitchy, action, spaceship, combat game...

    Early Access: Thoughts/Opinions?

Thank you guys, both, for your thoughts. There are no bad suggestions or advice, W-O-D. Lolcomputer, I had heard of RPS, but just assumed they were a simple gaming e-mag or something. I never knew they did this sort of thing. Very interesting, thanks a lot for bringing it to my attention...

    Early Access: Thoughts/Opinions?

I don't have much to add at this point, but this is an incredibly fascinating thread to me. I've been writing a new game for the last two years and I don't really know very much about this early access model or whether or not it will work with a 2D, multiplayer, action, game. Does early access...

I finally remembered the name of this game. Nostalgia Thread

My first game was Advanced Dungeons and Dragons for the Intellivision. Released in 1982. I still have my Intellivision and played this game a few years ago. Still a lot of fun. I played that SWAT game. Police Quest 4 was by far the best in the series in my opinion.

So I've been working on my own game: Rebirth - procedural survival horror sandbox game

That's awesome. Very impressive stuff. I hear you about writing from scratch. That's fun once, after that, not so much. I've done a little reading on Unity3D and it sounded like the best framework to use. Once I finish my current game (my last 2D game) I'm going to be moving this direction...

So I've been working on my own game: Rebirth - procedural survival horror sandbox game

Did you write your own 3D engine or are you using something that already exists like Unity3d, etc? I write my own 2D games and engines as well so I was interested in more of the tech specs. Any info you care to share? I'd love to move into the 3D realm one day, but I'm not there yet. I...

    ARMA 3

I went ahead and got this. I haven't played any of these types of games since Op Flashpoint which I loved dearly. Nice to know the same core ideas are all present or look to be. I'm loving it so far. This is actually the first time I ever used my Mac as a gaming rig and I was very pleasantly...

    Steam Greenlight

Hey all, Just curious if anyone knows what kinds of games will be accepted by Steam's new Greenlight community. Flash games, Adobe AIR, XNA games, etc. etc.??? I literally just learned about Greenlight today and love the concept. I'm just curious if the game I'm currently writing would be...

    The Walking Dead

I really enjoyed episode 1. For the style of game it is, I thought it was really well done. I could completely understand if this style of game isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was a refreshing change.

    Satellite Shenanigans

WTF. Hmmm, that's really strange. I'll try to get it sorted out tonight. Sorry about that. I'm just so new on the Android side of things. Glad you told me, thanks again.

    Satellite Shenanigans

Right now it's only on Play and they said it could take up to a day to be visible. If you still can't see it, let me know and I'll see what I can do tonight. The Wildfire is 480x320 right? That would make it a "normal" screen size and should be supported by this version. I'll check the...

The iPhone version has been accepted and is available on the app store. I also released the phone version on the Android market. If this goes okay then I'll release the full tablet version for Android tablets. I'm a little uneasy with this one because I don't have any Android devices to test...

    Satellite Shenanigans

Funny you say that Edeslash... I submitted the iPhone version a week ago. It's "in Review". The iPad version was in review for three hours. The iPhone version has been in review for 4 days. I'm starting to get a little ticked. It takes weeks to get from Waiting to In Review. I'll have...

Edited the OP. Submitted a new version to the app store to take care of a few missing images. Waiting for them to approve it. I should have the iPhone version and MAYBE Android tablet versions uploaded this weekend.

    Satellite Shenanigans

I really appreciate your comments and you're absolutely right. I guess after waiting weeks for the app store to accept it, that's where my focus and excitement was and not on the game itself. I'll revisit my OP, because again, you couldn't be more right. Thanks!

    Satellite Shenanigans

I haven't mentioned the game here before. Now that you mention it, I think I do remember a while back someone posting something about a similar idea. I used Flash Builder 4.6 and it sounds like it is similar to Unity in that you only need to code once and then compile for the different OS's...

    Satellite Shenanigans

I figured I'd knock out the iPhone first since I'm already set up in the Apple Developer program and that port should go quick. Then I'll be hitting up the Android market. Probably starting with the higher resolution devices (tablets) and working down. It's unbelievable how much easier it is...
