The Avengers have been forced to rethink their members, especially with characters like the She-Hulk and Ghost Rider being introduced to other corners of the Marvel universe. In the process of this change, other characters have made it into the Avengers clan like a recent enemy Namor.

Another enemy is trying to make amends with the Avengers team to replace a major asset in the group.

The Avengers’ popularity has risen over the years. The first MCU crossover, ‘The Avengers’ takes second place in the superhero fans’ hearts. Spiderman is the most popular Avenger by far, followed by Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America. The Avengers, as a group, have taken the world by storm. The characters appear in separate movies, with the latest being Spider-Man: No Way Home, and group movies like 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. The Avengers are also very prominent in other entertainment sectors such as video games like Marvel’s Avengers, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, Spider-Man, and also in the online gambling world with The Avengers slot game by NextGen, a software giant that offers slot games at some of the best online casinos.

Avengers #55 by Javier Garron, Jason Aaron, David Curiel, and VC’s Cory Petit see Black Panther parting his ways with the Avengers, only to be replaced by Nighthawk, Marvel’s take on a Batman character. Nighthawk is one of the most complex characters to debut in the Avengers.

While most enemies have embraced their dark side, Nighthawk remains a dubious one since he is still seen as a somewhat heroic figure by many. His attempts to restore the Heroes Reborn reality pitted him against Nick Fury and Black Cat. However, his journey to discover his true origins has seen him embracing a form of heroism that is rarely seen in Marvel’s enemies.

This heroism catches the eye of the Black Panther who reveals that due to his solo career rising in full swing, he will be stepping down from the Avengers and making room for Nighthawk. However, before Black Panther exited the scene, he entrusted Nighthawk with intel that will allow him to continue the hunt for Mephisto and his followers. This is what lands Nighthawk’s place in the Avengers group.

Nighthawk’s entry into the Avengers was a surprising move given the potential threat that this character has within himself. He has been used as a pawn of Mephisto before and it could likely happen again. However, the Avengers are trusting Nighthawk to work with them and not against them – to stop the greater evil. Nighthawk is being given a chance to prove himself in the little time that he has left in this world.

It will be interesting to see how this will influence the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Could Nighthawk have a more prominent role now, acting as a substitute for Black Panther? Regardless of how big or small Nighthawk’s role will be, he is definitely in the Avengers team, and we will just have to wait and see what’s in store for us…and for Nighthawk!
