I just watched this movie.. I had to have seen it over 15 times and I still get chills down my spine at the end during those quotes. I love it. It is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time for sure. It is also one of the few movies to really leave an impression on me. "Get busy living..or get busy dieing...thats damn right"
Awesome movie, definitely one of my favorites too. I'm glad they show it on tv all the time ^_^ It gets kind of boring when that one kid comes along to get his GED and then gets shot, but other than that its pretty good at keeping you watching considering how long it is. (Even after the twentieth time seeing it)
It's a great film. I watched it on the theathers a long time ago (it was nearly empty), it's now #2 on IMDB. The director that made this made The Green Mile, another great Stephen King novel.
The first time I saw the ending to this Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler I was literally grinning and laughing my ass off. Every trial the main character faces you feel his pain, and every time he overcomes it, for every victory he achieves you can't help but cheer, especially the ending. Possibly one of the best endings of all time, and definitely one of my favourite movies.
People, PLEASE use the spoiler tags, some people haven't seen it and it's really easy to ruin something just by scrolling past some of this stuff. It's happened to me a few times on these forums.
Agreed (especially with above post), it's one of my fav films as well. I like Memento a lot as well, although it's a different kind of film.
The movie is brilliant - bought it on DVD. I'm currently reading the book aswell, the movie is very true to the book so far, except in the book there are a lot more Wardens. I would really recommend the book, some of Stephen's King finest work.
One of my favourite films in the entire world. Morgan Freeman's a god. One of the few films I've cried at. But in a manly lumberjack kind of a way.
Memento owned. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Okay... what am I doing... I'm running... oh, am I running after this guy? *runs over to him* *guy shoots at him* Nope. *runs the other way* Loving the sig, Chi
Oh ok! It's this really peculiar but utterly hilarious British comedy set in a zoo. I doubt many people watched it, so I doubt there'll be a second series, sadly. But yeah, it's a good quote
What was it called? Boosh? I seem to recall seeing a british comedy set in a zoo not too long ago, sounds familiar.
The Mighty Boosh. And yeah it wasn't too long ago. The two main characters were called Howard Moon (who the quote is in reference to) and Vince Noir.
Ha, I watched that once. There was a reason why it was on BBC 3. Actually, I can't remember whether I found it funny or not.
Yeah all the obscure stuff gets shifted ont' Beeb3. If it does ok then maybe BBC2. I can understand why you wouldn't like it. It can be very obtuse and you either love it or hate it, I think.
Just to get back on topic for a few minutes... The Shawshank Redemption is going to be re-released to the big screen for its 10 year aniversary. Either this month or next month I think. So get out there and see it the way it was meant to be seen!
Wha?!?!?! any sources to confirm this ? damn, it's true, IMDB confirms this. I hope the new DVD comes out soon. Lucky me don't have the old version.
Actually wasn't it something like.. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler What was I doing again? .. Oh yeah.. I'm chasing this guy..*bang* Nope, he's chasing me..*runs away*
Correct. That was one of my favorite moments in the film. I love the way it all falls into place at the end as well.
This is movie to me is one of my favorites also, on the list next to Donnie Darko, The Matrix, and Fightclub, Lord of the ring series.. really just depends onmy mood ot enjoy to the movie./
Memento is the coolest movie i've seen in a few years. I saw it on TV the other day and it was awesome, reminded me of Fight Club
what absolutely makes this movie like awesome is the narratives with the old suicidal guy and the black guy i love the piano background music during that part just so sad and awesome ya
i have wanted to buy the dvd for so long but its only in one of those stupid cardboard snapper cases. I dont buy movies in those. Ill have to wait till a special edition or something
One of my favorite films too, everything about it is done so well. And I love his escape. I wont buy it on DVD though cause I'd watch it too much and would probably get bored of it, which I don't want to do.
Yeah, that's the one. Haven't seen it in a while... should get it out again sometime. Yeah, I'd rather it that way, too. Like whenever a song I like becomes a single I boycott the radio for two weeks Anyway aside from the first time I saw it on video, it's been on TV twice and I watched it right through both times. Might have to check it out again if it comes to cinemas.
I'm watching this movie right now as we speak, for the second or third time. I think its a great movie!
I like american Beauty as well. It was a film that made me appreciate life a little more than I usually do.
Heheh, this movie is on TV tonight. Seen it enough though, still one of my favourite movies of all time.
