he's ready to give you an enema!

this game seems to be having a big chunk of pixar influence. it's already fun just to watch the introduction of the characters, cause it has this flair of a good animated flick. this game leads us into another era of computer gaming, where it's not about worlds of war to save human mankind, and sqauds of demons straight from hell, it brings back the silly attidude of funny, unrealistic, and colorful games which have no scale to go by (that is, also within the game!). maybe tf2 turns out as your harmless comic book you read as a kid wrapped up into a virtual playground.

if only a game like team fortress 2 had the power to nail responsible "experts" of media and communication who don't see us as gamers, but people who join the dark side of life - that this example strengthens the argument to play videogames, more precisely shooters. and fps aren't any virus for our society, they offer interactive, emotional involvement - they're actually as comical as team fortress 2. the only difference is the fact that tf2 represents it optically (most likely beyond that), whereas other shooters stand for the same picture, opponents of the "new media" just have to get the whole picture. :( well... let's hope it actually will be this kind of "batman series back in the '60s" fps. eventually! :D

By the way, folks, this has not been newsposted yet because Valve has not officially released it, and we'd prefer to not post it until they do.

    Sechs in High Definition Form.

EDIT: Ennui Honey, you could always post it and be like "omfgwtfbbq Halflife2.net EXCLUSIVE!" and get lots of publicity.

heh btw there is no way thats 2fort :p and I doubt the spy would really be so sneaky D:

So who thinks ep2 isn't going to be 20$ likes ep1? Full priced game, 50$ ( but hell, for all three: ep2, tf2, and portal... I'd gladly pay it)

I've studied the video a bit, the outside part is definately 2fort. (Where each class is introduced, not where the engineer is standing on the Tanks)

I don't care what it is, I'm buying it! ;)

I really can't wait for TF2 and Portal... I'm anticipating them more than Ep2 cause it's something new! :D

BTW, to compare old TF2 to new TF2, watch this old trailer :D

I think he's standing on flagrun.

That thing with the 2 on it, and the small window on the top, looks like the tower where they kept the middle flags in flagrun.

That, or the new version of well, although the main entrance (with the stairs) looks a bit small.

This looks SO damn awesome. I wasn't expecting it to look anything like this at all and the change is a great thing in my opinion, suits the game very well.
I also didn't expect it to be out so soon either, i was expecting it to be out a year later after the announcement. Go VALVe! :D

Also... is that motion blur i see? Reckon thats just something they put in to make the movie look better or might it be in-game? :O

I think it quite possibly could be used in-game since Portal has some gameplay footage that shows Motion Blur. I also think Episode 2 is using DOF and Motion Blur.

Yeah, i noticed the motion blur in Porthole too. Be awesome if it is implemented, and we know VALVe would do it right.

DOF would be awesome too :D

that would be awesome, like instead of a person just standing there slighly moving cuz of the whole "breathing" motion, they could do something like the engineer slamming his wrench in his hand, but that would mean the player owuld have to have the wrench selected....unless theres an idle motion for each player.....time will tell.

btw trailer is up on steam

The graphics are great and all and I'm sure the gameplay will be fun but I really didn't like the trailer. It looks to me like they're trying too hard be funny. Pixar movies like The Incredibles and stuff are great because they had funny dialogue and situations, not just because of thier animation style. I doubt TF2 will be funny. The situation will probably be a bunch of guys running around shooting each other and the dialogue will include morons saying "lol gtfo fag nub!11!!" like you can expect you can expect in any online game, or anywhere else on the internet for that matter. If this was a single player game it would work out great; knowing Valve there would be funny lines, memorable characters, crazy setpieces etc. But with an MP game I just feel it's lame, unless things like the soldier's giant hands are enough to make you laugh.

    Remember when

    ***Spoiler***

Alyx crossed that bridge, and makes it just in time ?

    ***/Spoiler***

I thought that was a clear example of motion blur. It could have been a regular dx9 shader, though.

*edit: can't seem to find anything about it on the net, so I'm probably wrong.

    Here's a question.

Will the console versions of HL2 and Ep1 be implementing these graphical techniques?

If they are, I simply hope we'll be seeing them.

Of course, it's a regular shader, it's not motion blur. It's the same effect they used in Citadel Core..

That's a good question. Since Valve states these effects are next-gen Source, I'm pretty sure they'll use these effects to make console versions more beautiful.
