If I was to want to dig out the sound files for, say, half-life 2 that I've installed through steam, where would I be able to find them, if I'm able to find them? Also, would there be some sort of program I would need? Thanks much :thumbs:
Anyone know where I could find dialogue for major characters, like Alyx and what have you? I can't seem to find it...
I think they're in folders based on what part of the game it's in. Something like klienerlab has all the sounds for that part of the game, Alyx Kleiner Barney etc.
Hmm, I've found the folders for scenes, but there arn't any sound files in them, just .vcd's. I guess I'll have to keep digging.
source sounds.gcf has Half-Life 2's sounds (in hl2\sounds\). episode 1 shared.gcf has Episode One's sounds (in episodic\sounds\). episode two content.gcf has Episode Two's sounds (in ep2\sounds\).
