    Poll is in Celsius!

    This isn't a help thread, I just thought it would be mildly interesting to see a spread of cpu temps. It would also give those with insane custom cooling setups to show off. It might also provide some real data for those who want to know if their temps are normal.

    Of course cpu temp vary when under load or not. Should probably pick an average or something. I'll try to choose sensible ranges for the poll.

    Again, this is not for ultra-scientific data collection. Just post your nearest average cpu temp, jeez! ;)

    It should be safe up until about 746ยบ C. At which point, it will blow up. Shrapnel will hit you in the eye and you will scream bloody murder.

    BTW, 91 is extremely high (aka not safe for the processor) :|

    I promise you won't get hurt by a 91 degree C pentium 3. Unless you touch it, or it falls on you in a heavy case from a high shelf or something...

    And hooray for boredom... and stock cooling!


    edit: ummm RJMC, it's cpu temp, not your PC case or room or something. You really in the 0 to 10 range?

    My CPU temp. is 34C, I voted wrong though.

    Cool&Quiet works so well, even when OCed.
    Stock heatsink is cool to the touch.

    My old bios readings were up in the 50's and I knew they were too high. Updated the bios on the new board and they fixed the readings. ;)

    My T-bird 1.4GHz is another story. CPU temp is around 45C at idle but it is in a warmer room too I guess.

    Quite often the manufacture who makes your mainboard has a program on their website that will tell you.
    There are a number software applications out there that can read the temp sensors.
    Even Si Sandra can read the sensors, I believe.

    I had a feeling 91 was too hot... must be the broken fan :p anyway.. i'm not too concerned, unless it burns through the bottom of the computer and desk and lands on my lap...

    I got 70 to 80 celsius ratings, I have an AMD 1900+ with Zalmann's heating system. I've tried everything to lower the temp but no luck so far. I think that my case may be the cause.

    well it was about room temperature last time I checked...but the computer wasn't on so I would guess its probably in that 41 to 50 range.

    My 2600+ Thoroughbred B is currently running @ 39ยบC, thanks to my CoolerMaster X-Dream running at 3000RPM. I should point out that my case has two 80mm outtakes, and both are filled by aluminum fans, which act as two awesome extra heatsinks.

    Try Speedfan, scroll down to the blue bar that says 'Download'. ;)
    It is pretty simple to use.

    You don't want your CPU temp. to be above 80C, but below. Most don't like it over 60 or 70C but it won't be unstable at those temps.

    AMD Athlon XP 3200+ running at 59/60C idle and about 64 under load.

    I downloaded SpeedFan and I am running it now. I take it that Temp2 is my CPU (56C).

    A simple way of telling whether your CPU is too hot.

    1) Remove computer case

    2) Crack an egg onto CPU (you may have to rotate computer to do this)

    3) If after 3 minutes the egg is cooked enough to eat, then your CPU is probably too hot.

    i have a 2600+ overclocked from 1910MHz to 2376MHz (3200+ is 2.2GHz) which runs at 45c idle and 52c under load :)

    3200+ at 42c right now and perhaps 50c under load. On a hot summer day (with no AC going) it will hit 50 idle and no more than 60 under load.

    I had a Vantec Tornado on it which ran normally between 35-39c idle, but that thing was LOUUUUD...I couldn't even use the computer without using headphones.
