its clearly valve just laughing at themselves because most of their titles like HL2 and EP1 were constantly pushed back and back, being released MUCH later than they had originally confirmed.

It's a pattern, really. In 2009, a person's first post was the revival of this thread, and now, in 2010, the same thread has been revived by a similar person's first post. I think I'll develop a study on this.
