After 18 days of protesting, President Mubarak of Egypt has finally stepped down. Power has been transferred to the Military Council. Streaming live from Al Jazeera:

    Story from BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12433045

It's great to see all of those rightfully excited people. Muslims protecting Christians and vice-versa throughout all of this protesting. Not only a major victory for the people of Egypt, but for humanity as well.

Too bad there's already a huge thread on this in the Lounge. Still, it's wonderful news that he has finally stepped down.
