One thing thats really beginning to bother me is the pistols. Pistols are the ultimate in maneuverability and speed in the real world, but in they seem to slow you down versus other guns... They should be quickly drawn and have a much lighter trigger... I don't know, they just don't feel right. At least they have the correct power in contrast to other games.

Apparently the game is overrun with morons tonight. There was one guy sitting in the spawn TKing everyone, but the worst was some guy crashing just about every server. Me and a ton of other people were migrating from server to server like refugees(somewhat appropriate considering the game)trying to get away from that loser.

    Things I would alter:

There needs to be a kill indicator. I completely understand why they didn't add one, but it bothers me that I don't know who I killed or who killed me.

Pistols, like Infern0 said, need to be lighter overall.

There needs to be a mini map for the game to be at least accessible. Right now, no one knows what to do and every game mode is rendered into pure TDM.

You need to be able to move a little while reloading the RPG.

I like the idea of having an unlimited amount of Assaulters (M4/AK) and a limited amount of other classes. Maybe the Assault class could just be the default class and the only other selectable classes are the auxiliary ones.

Am I the only person that can't run this game for shit?

My comp runs everything else in Source just fine on max (including AA/AF/HDR), but this thing chugs at like 15fps 50% of the time when I have everything on lowest details (no AA/AF/HDR).

I even updated my Nvidia drivers.

There's a bunch of things that annoy the hell out of me in this mod.

Movement is wonky, people bunch up too easily because there's a massive box around them that is impassable. I've had 3ft gaps between a teammate and a wall and I can't get through it.

There's way too many TK'ers and spawn campers. I can't count the number of times I've died within the first 3-5 seconds of spawning.

It'd be nice to have some more specific markers of where to go (even if there isn't a commander putting them down or whatever)

I HATE the class system. I can understand limiting the number of snipers or something, but having 1-2 slots for each class SUCKS. I get in and the only class available is always the ****ing RPG or a support gunner. Even if you get in early and get something you like, after 5 minutes or so you're stuck with it because every other slot will be gone. This also makes people that are commanders get stuck in the class and they have to reconnect so somebody that knows what they're doing can take their place (I've only seen 1 person actually reconnect).

Also, does anybody else have to aim down really far to have a trajectory even close to flat with the M203?

I hope some of this stuff gets fixed soon.

Oh yeah, NEVER use bandages..chances are you'll just get stuck in the map (as if I haven't spawned inside the map enough).

As I play more, the less I want to play. There's certain things that need be addressed badly. I really would like to see who I kill and who i'm killed by. Realism can kill fun :(

Camping really is almost too effective in this game also. I've yet to see a single American victory on the assault/defend maps. Lot's of potential, but I'll be playing DoD Source for now

I've seen the Americans win once. We got the whole team to cooperate and rush one side. And we ended up taking the whole map. THen the next round we got stupid tkers who would kill the whole team. One was at -800 points.

Runs like shit; crashed when I tried to switch to dx8.1, so I'll see how that combined with low settings will work (if it doesn't crash again).

Didn't have a chance to play online last night, but I fired up a map just to test it out and see how it looked. The first thing I noticed is that they absolutely nailed the atmosphere and first person weapons.

Hopefully I can get some play time tonight... assuming R6:V doesn't suck me in.

There was some douchebag running around between a bunch of servers (Russ. was his name) that would come in, brag about how he was going to crash the server and sing into the mike. Then the server would go down a few seconds later.

Between servers not loading, servers crashing and tkers spawn killing, there isn't any reason to attempt playing this game. Perhaps in a few months when the servers are more secure and stable and there are countermeasures for tking asshats.

Man, I've had almost no issues, except my ping is perpetually at at LEAST 170. Wtf!? I have a fantastic connection, and I was playing on nearby servers... D:

I have no problem besides the occasional crash here and there. I run everything maxed out with 16x AA and HDR at at least 70fps.

It's a WIP people, don't act like you paid $50 bucks for it. It's a first beta release, what did you expect?

The game has alot of potential but they need couple of changes. The "Reinforcement depelted" thing is stupid. Who would want to wait 5-7 minutes before playing again? At least raise the # of the times of that and put a clock in spectator mode so the dead players can see how much longer before they play again.

I agree, killed\killer info is a must have and more indication of the obectives and where and what to do.

They're one of those mods that said they wouldn't release betas because they wanted to look professional, therefore people can complain if they want to.

If they had released betas all of the problems would've been fixed by now.

In the end, it's still a mod, and they did do a damn good job developing it, flaws and all.

    ^^

If you're aiming for your mod to be professional, then it will be subjected to the appropriate standards.

That said, I am only downloading it at the moment of typing, so I have yet to play and evaluate it. 75% complete so far, so that shouldn't be too long from now.

I don't get why a lot of modmakers now choose to release their mods at a near finished stage instead of the classic method of releasing even the earliest alpha that produced mods like CS, NS, DoD and Desert Combat. It seems to be some striving for "professionalism", but releasing a beta that doesn't allow you to spawn on half the servers isn't very professional.

But despite that, I still really enjoy the mod.

I don't quite get one thing - choosing classes. First of all, wasn't the marksman class supposed to be the only limited one? Secondly - when I press the comma button to access the class selection menu, I get a list of classes. When I press '0' (next), I get another list of classes (I assume it's the second squad?), but this time it says "weapon detachment" above it, and for example if I choose the rifleman, it will have an aimpoint mounted (unlike when I choose the rifleman in the previous class list. So uhhh... does the second squad get weapons with attachments or what? I'm confused...

True. However, I think of the mod team as little puppies - they promised not to shit in the room, and then they did, but only in one corner, and it was on hardwood and not carpet, so it's not TOO bad, so I yell at them a little, but they're still just retarded little puppies so I can't really stay mad. I'm not gonna feed them though.

[edit] Unfocused: The second class menu is the "specialists detachment", who just seem to get slightly different weapons. It's more a small insignificant detail than anything, I think.

Not sure why everyone is complaining that It's hard for USMC to win rounds. I just completed a few games of Battle in Baghdad as the marines and we won every single time.

I hate how you ice skate everywhere too. There's no realistic bobbing movement or anything. The only realistic thing seems to be the weapons, yet the iron sights seem misaligned and you can't fire over ledges properly.

I'd be a better player if the fps weren't 10-20 outdoors; hard to aim :/ Hopefully stuff will get optimized.

Yeah, I can't really play this mod. I'll chalk up a lot of that to my damaged, mediocre PC. But it's impossible for me to play in the big, open areas.

Eh. They need to do some optimizing. It looks better than any other Source mod, but not enough to warrant the video card rapage.

You'll probably never get a server with enough openings for a big group.
