Gamespy has posted a revealing interview with Doug Lombardi; Valve's marketing director. The discussion involved things such as AI, the materials system, and... moving clouds? It's a worthwhile interview, and even features a few new tidbits of information about the game (including a bit more insight into the storyline).
Among other things, Lombardi confirms that the game will have Dolby 5.1 sound, saying that they will migrate to Creative's 6.1 standard as it becomes widely available.
Multiplayer was also briefly discussed, resulting in some exciting new information:
"GameSpy: Finally, can you share any details on what we might expect in the multiplayer arena from Half-Life 2?
Doug Lombardi: Only that at this point we're not releasing too many details about the gameplay modes. Valve is very committed to online gaming. Our Source engine was built to support a number of online gameplay modes, and Half-Life 2 will...

Totalvideogames have previewed Half-Life 2, while the article offers no real new information, it's still an interesting read. They rated it 10/10, with the comment:
"We want this more than anything. More than Doom 3. More than Halo 2. More than Outrun 2, Shenmue III and the next installments of Rez, Zelda and Mario, we even want this more than Pro Evo 3 - which is really saying something..."

Thanks to Majestic XII's insight, it appears that everyone with Steam may have another Half-Life 2 direct feed video on their hard-drive!
The gcache.gcf file inside the 'half-life 2 movies' folder in the Steam directory has some interesting contents, one of them being 'hl2-docks.exe'. Currently we cannot get to it, but if anyone knows how to access it the .gcf file, it would be interesting to see if the video is real or not.

Erik J. of VALVe hopped on to the #hl2media channel on Gamesnet earlier today, a few people asked him some questions, heres a tidbit:
<aragorn> ErikJ: I have heard that steam will incorporate P2P elements later on. Any idea what kind of P2P elements?
<ErikJ> P2P is a ways down the road, but yes, it's a natural path for any distributed file system.
