1. Yes. Even with the bugs (which seem to be fewer and further-between compared to 360/PS3), I can't put this game down. 2. Not yet, but there are lots of community mods already out that fix a lot of quest bugs and the like, not to mention great gameplay mods. 3. Longer. Twice as many locations, and 163 quests vs 100 in FO3. In short, New Vegas will make you hate Fallout 3 and think it was shitty, if you didn't already.
FO3 is just a repeat of Bethesda's casual profit-raping of a series they didn't create. In both games, they basically ignored canon in favour of a generic one-dimensional story that makes the player out to be a simple hero without giving a whole lot of reasons why. Obsidian took their turn and this time, the world isn't a dozen areas stapled together in a loose grid, the story makes sense and the antagonists have real motives, the writing is good, the dialogue is natural, the characters have real depth to them, the voice actors are better....
What? Are you saying that Obsidian did not design, write, code and implement its own characters or chose voice actors to fill the role?
About the voice actors, I mean. I guess I was in a hurry and just left too much in the quote. Bethesda did handle the voice actors.
That's fair. I mean, NV still has two-line generic NPCs voiced by the same six actors. But Dave Foley as Yes Man more than makes up for it
Uh, no, the recording studio handled the voice actors. Obsidian still chose who would voice what, otherwise, we would be still hearing the piss poor voice actors from Fo3.
God damn tried one last time making hundreds of saves. Then I travel to Nipton for what should've been an easy quest and a random girl named Jackyln opens a dialogue with me. At the end, she says she is going to "compose herself". She shoots me dead. Game returned.
The Archimedes II is broken. Whenever I go to target an enemy it closes in and does everything but right as it would normally fire, it just stops and the targeting laser just keeps appearing then getting smaller like its about to fire, no matter what weapon I have out. Made me have to load a save about 45 minutes back just to stop it, so now I can't even use the weapon.
Having a weird lockpick and hacking bug. When I go to lockpick the comp screen that comes up when you hack a terminal comes up over the lockpicking hud. Lockpicking a terminal! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=581gu1Km3Qw Also, when hacking the comp screen is all bright and I can't see the text. This only has happened in Hoover Dam so far so dunno if it's due to me being there early.
Ever since the update, my game has been crashing on me a lot more than usual. Anyone else getting this?
It's a shame they still have the same crappy Pip-Boy interface as in FO3, making managing notes for example annoying as ****, and keeping track of unlisted quests.
I hate those unlisted quests. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Trying to do the one where you help out the Ranger in Vault 3 but I can't find Motor-Runner anywhere. I swear I could've killed everybody but I never get a dialogue option saying that he is....
When you first get to primm, there is talk about another courier, who passed on the assignment and told them to give it to courier 6 instead. Do you ever find out who that was?
If you're having trouble with an unmarked quest, go to the New Vegas Vault, they have pretty good walkthrough's for quests. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas
No don't think so. Wasn't he just the forth courier? He had a note on him with the number 4 or something. Don't really remember.
Are there only locations east of the colorado? Caesar's land, I mean. Or is it just The Fort? I know about the deathclaw promontory.
I am probably going to pick up this game for Christmas. Has anyone played Hardcore? Is it fun? Also, on normal and hard, do you still have to eat and drink?
Hardcore is fun. I actually don't like playing it the normal way, after having started on hardcore. And no, on regular difficulties, you dont need to eat or drink. You still can obviously, but just to get their negligible amounts of HP restoring effects.
Goddamnit, patch the 360 version first. Anyway, completed it lastnight. Over 100 hours I put into it. Loved all the different ending possibilities. Will play it again soon but as an absolute bastard rather than the good guy I played first time through. Shame you can't take control of the Legion army.
Count me de fuk out, I don't buy DLC. Unless it's on sale. Not to mention I don't even own a console.
PS3 users had to wait about a year for their DLC. I wonder how long we PC/PS3 people will have to wait this time.
