Do I need HL2/HL2: Episode 1 to play Episode 2?

    I was planning to get it, but I do not have hl2 nor Episode 1, so I can still play without them, or I need Episode 1 for the Zombine model?

    You can still play without them, but if you haven't played them you probably should play them first.

    Episode 2 will work by itself, in that the game will operate correctly, but its a crime to play episode 2 without playing the other games in the series.

    Thanks, I just wanted it for Garry's Mod, LOL
    And as well, yes, I did not play the whole Half-Life 2 series, so I may be left behind.
