• CS: Global Offensive Front & Center At The International 3?

Discussion in 'News' started by -smash-, Sep 9, 2012.

The International only just ended a week ago, and already there's talk about next year's plans for what many have considered to be a successful invitational.

PCGamers.cn is reporting that The International 3, obviously set for 2013, will host a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament with $1.6 million worth in prizes.

Counter-Strike professionals were initially heavily involved in the development of Global Offensive. So, it's only natural that Valve thinks, at some point, they should get involved with the CS competitive scene even further by holding a tournament for the game.

Take this information as a rumor for now, though. We've asked Valve for a comment and we'll let you know if we hear back. Otherwise, stay tuned!

Indeed. I was wondering why at first Valve/HPE were so adamant with using the feedback and expertise from pro's to develop the game, but then they've not really said how they'll support the competitive scene after release. A tournament would be fitting.
