Bah... when I saw the news, I thought I might have a chance to get in on it... Until I got to the CZ part. It may save the game, but there's no way I'm going to buy it just for the beta.

I am hardly going to buy a game so I can get into the beta of that games successor...no value for money, I'll save my cash and wait for CS:S.

Here's a three good reasons for buying CZ :
1. You'll get to play CZ1.2 with the new special features like the new skins,models and hostages!! :naughty:
2. You'll get to play CS:S BETA!!!!!!!!!11 (probably the best reason ^^)
3. If u want to DL CZ:S in the future I think u'll need to have a CZ copy... well, thats only my thought

I hope the people who bought CZ before this announcement get priority.

Sounds like the perfect reason. I'm quite glad I picked up CZ when Amazon started selling it at their cheaper price. It's a great game on its own plus this is a wonderful perk.

I already own CZ and I'm quite happy with it, no complains here. Offline bot-support is outstanding, you get the Deleted Scenes, which is not 100% bugfree, but still fun to play and you get CS online with better graphics and some extra maps for 34 euro. Hell, you don't hear me complaining, it's a well worth package to me And this makes it even better

I really can't wait. I don't like the regular CS, but I think CS:S will be better.

rest assured people that the offer to people owning CS:CZ will extend further than the beta...meaning either:

a) owners of CS:CZ will be able to download CS:S for free over Steam.

b) owners of CS:CZ will be able to get CS:S at lower price.

any other scenario will leave the CS:CZ owners screwed, which I'm sure Valve is aware of.

Personally I think all us people who bought graphics cards with a Half Life 2 voucher deserve to beta test CS-S more than the CSZ owners owing to the fact that we basically got screwed out of cash upto a year early, and the 'premier pack' in all honesty is a bag of shite.

Steam charges $39.95 for the game (£21), and play.com charges £12 ($26) with free postage.

Well as I said above, I think Valve should offer the beta to all people who bought the ATI cards with what has so far amounted to an empty promise.

No way am I playing even a measley £12 so they can sell me something I dont want, to give me the chance to beta test something (if CS:S does indeed come with HL2) that I'm owed.

I doubt i will buy CS:S much less CZ.

CS:S is intended to be free with HL2 purchases, so you shouldn't have to buy it

Ive seen conflicting reports of whether its free or not.

Because if I owned CZ since the day it came out and lost my chance to be in the beta because of someone who bought the game purely because of this new carrot, I'd feel cheated too.

Where does it say the beta will be limited to only a few CZ owners and cyber cafes? Surely everyone who owns CZ or has a cyber cafe will get a chance to download and play it.
